Molecular interaction between alcohol and H2O makes the solution non- ideal with +ve deviation, since the interation between alcohol and alcohol is H- bond and H2O and H2O is also H- bonding . After mixing, the interaction between alcohol and H2O is also H- bonding but less than the H- bonding in alcohol and H2O separately. So the interation after mixing decreases and the vapour pressure of solution increases and forms low boiling point azeotropte.
