(a) If two events cannot occur simultaneously in a random experiment then they are called mutually exclusive events, (b) Events are said to be independent, if the occurrence of one does not depend upon the occurrence of the other, (c) In a random experiment, let S be the sample space & let E be an event then E C S, So ‘E’ is also an event called the complementary of E.
