Given: A bag contains 17 tickets , numbered 1 to 17, and each trial is independent of the other. Hence the sample space is given by S = {1,2,3,……,17} To find: the probability that both the tickets are drawn show even numbers. Let , success : ticket drawn is even.i.e 8 17 Now , the Probability of success in the first trial is P1(success) = 8 17 Probability of success in the second trial without replacement of the first draw is given by P2(success) = 8 17 Hence , the probability that both the tickets show even numbers with each trial being independent is given by
