In pure dielectrics, the parameter that is zero is (a) Attenuation (b) Propagation (c) Conductivity (d) Resistivity This question was posed to me during an internship interview. This is a very interesting question from Plane Waves in Dielectrics topic in chapter EM Wave Propagation of Electromagnetic Theory Select the correct answer from above options Electromagnetic Theory questions and answers, Electromagnetic Theory questions pdf, Electromagnetic Theory question bank, Electromagnetic Theory questions and answers pdf, mcq on Electromagnetic Theory pdf, electromagnetic theory book pdf, electromagnetic theory pdf notes, electromagnetic theory lecture notes, electromagnetic theory of light, maxwell electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic theory proposed by,electromagnetic theory engineering physics, electromagnetic theory nptel

The correct option is (c) Conductivity Explanation: There are no free charge carriers available in a dielectric. In other words, the charge carriers are present in the valence band, which is very difficult to start to conduct. Thus conduction is low in dielectrics. For pure dielectrics, the conductivity is assumed to be zero.
