We know that a die has 6 spaces Sample space S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} Total no. of outcomes = 6 Consider P (A) as the probability of getting an even number So the sample space A = {2, 4, 6} P (A) = 3/6 = 1/2 Consider P (B) as the probability of getting a number whose value is greater than 2 So the sample space B = {3, 4, 5, 6} (A ∩ B) = {4, 6} We get P (A ∩ B) = 2/6 = 1/3 Here the probability of getting a number greater than 2 given that the outcomes is even is written as
