Thereare 6 red marbles numbered from 1 to 6 and 4 white marbles numbered from 12 to 15. ∴ Total number of marbles =10 (i) Probability of a marble drawn is white = 4 10 = 2 5 (ii) There are two marbles that are white and odd numbered. ∴ Probability of a marble drawn is white and odd numbered = 2 10 = 1 5 (iii) There are 3 red marbles that are even numbered and 2 white marbles that are even numbered. So, there are 5 marble that are even numbered. ∴ Probability of a marble drawn is even numbered = 5 10 = 1 2 (iv) There are 6 red marbles and 5 even numbered marbles. However, there are 3 red marbles that are even numbered. So, total number of marbles that are red or even =6+5-3=8 ∴ Probability of a marble drawn is red or even numbered = 8 10 = 4 5
